The weekend has mostly been spent at garden centres/DIY stores, in the garden, watching eurovision and drilling, decorating and tiling.
Not the most exciting weekend, but the garden is starting to look presentable, we have a hanging basket out the front of the house (my first ever attempt! Here's hoping it works out and looks lovely!) And... Now this is the most exciting... We have a toilet roll holder in the downstairs loo!! :O

I'll not subject you to a photo of that, so here is a snap of my new clematis in the corner of our garden.

A belated sunday snapshot, and it is in fact from yesterday when we were clearing out the spare room. Doesn't Darren look fetching in my purple afro wig?? :)

I've been feeling rotten today and have spent most of the day in bed. Not something you guys all wanna see a snapshot of!! :)

You can expect a lot of garden related sunday snapshots to be showing up on here. Especially if the weather continues to be as lovely as it has this weekend.

Construction of the raised beds has started. Paint has been purchased. And in a few weeks or so (weather dependant) we shall have a lovely patio area. :)

This morning I took a little tumble down the stairs.
So I was thinking about sharing a photo of the bruises I have begun to develop, after some consideration I decided its best not to show my arse to all and sundry! :D

Then this afternoon with mine and Darrens families we have been at the cinema (watching Hop) and having sunday dinner at the pub. What a lovely way to spend a Sunday. Now home we are snuggled on the sofa under our quilt... And here I am.

Much more pleasant than my bruised bottom yes! :)

My new lip balms. Lip smackers! Fanta orange, coca cola, and coca cola vanilla (the latter being my favourite)
Purchased from Primark this afternoon (along with 2 pairs of PJs. A vest. 2 dresses. 2 tops and a necklace. Darren got 4 tshirts!... we had a little unplanned spree!)

I love them, and next weekend will be returning to purchase the 'sprite' version, and probably buy another vanilla one because I *actually* love it! :) x

Just back from town where I picked up my new lovely Gok Wan glasses from Specsavers.
Not best accessorised with a red nose & cold I know (and I'm hoping my roots are not too noticeable using my BB camera) But hey, I may be a snivelling mess, but I have fecking cool glasses! :D xx

Darren found my lost hairband when we started to go through & sort the spare room. And promptly lost it again behind the back of the sofa about 10sec after this was taken, when he threw it at me! Hey ho. Happy Sunday x

Inspired by my best friend Leanne who was telling me about her carrot cakes the other day, this morning I made these little treats for Darren. an early valentines. ok. perhaps not the most glamourous well decorated cakes, but as a spur of the moment baking session. quite good I think!

besides, its the taste, not how they look thats important! (and they taste lovely!)

We are having a lazy Sunday. Very lazy. A lie in until gone midday, followed by a quick brunch, lazing on the sofa, and a beautiful cappuccino. Bliss.

This afternoon we went for a lovely pub lunch with our good friends Mary and Jimmy at The Priory in Wellingborough.

It was an absolute bitch to park, but the food was nice. In hindsight really wish I'd taken a snap of the 'tower burgers' Jim and Darren ordered. Never seen anything like it! 4 burgers, cheese, bacon and onion rings all in the one bun!! Me and Mary on the other hand had chicken. :)

Yep. We still have no curtains! Today we discovered the curtain pole is a touch too short.
It fits. But means the curtain will permanently hang partly in front of the door. Not ideal. So next weekend we are going new curtain pole shopping and we WILL have some curtains! (Pretty please, with sugar and cherries on top, please let us get some curtains up!!)
Other than that, its been quite a relaxed and enjoyable day. :)

Oh and too short curtain pole will not go to waste. It was originally planned for the bedroom anyway! :) x

Sunday Snapshot

This morning when on our journey to Ikea we detoured to Market Harborough so we could return my slippers (the ones I adored, and lovely hubby brought me for Xmas, but they were too small *sob*)
They didn't have the size I wanted, and Darren had left his card at home, so I now have a giftcard to treat myself with at some point.

Anyway. We *might* have walked past New Look. I *might* have suggested we go in and I *might* have ended up buying this mustard yellow jacket. ;)

It is lovely though don't you think (and it was in the sale, so I actually saved £20!)

Hoorah. Sunday snapshot is back!

This afternoon we popped shopping (after a morning filled with going to the gym and watching Wall-E) pretty much we just needed to go into Next to take a cushion back. But while we were there we popped into The Range to look for some espresso cups.

I admit I was distracted by the 50% off Christmas decorations sign, so we detoured. and then we found the hat section.....

I might have brought the white furry hunter hat that I tried on. Darren did not buy the bear hat.
We also brought some mixed herbs, dried chillies and a set of scales, we did not get any espresso cups!
