My birthday wish list

Is it wrong for me to be posting a wish list of things I would like for on my birthday? I don't want to seem greedy, its not gifts I am after, but rather a little list/plan of the things I would like to make my birthday special (to me) and I thought I would just share the things I would love on here for all to see!

A lot of it seems to revolve around food!... hmmm...

Warm croissants and fresh fruit for breakfast, with tea, coffee and oj! Ideally in the garden... if its fnished (and please be sunny!)
A lazy morning, perhaps a little shopping, and then a drive to a lovely local farm shop/tea room for lunch and a slice of cake.

Then home, to curl up on the sofa with a movie or two and some before mentioned Jelly Belly Beans.

Later on some Olive Bread (mmmmm, I could eat home baked olive bread all day long) With some mozzarella cheese a selection of cheeses, various cold meats and pates. Perhaps some home made pizza with some spicy chicken dipper things, or a BBQ in the garden!
If my birthday pans out like this I will be one blissfully happy (and relaxed) lady!
*ahem* lovely husband take note ;) xx

Whats your perfect way to spend your birthday??

(ps. celebrations with friends & family will happen at the weekend! I'm not ignoring them! haha)

Lust List - June 2011

Oops. I haven't done my lust list for a couple of months now! A bit belated perhaps, but here are the things on my Lust List for June...

1: A lego lunchbox!! omg. I'd never use it, but still I love it!
2: Boring I know... but seriously, I need some Billy bookcases for the spareroom/office!
3: And while i'm on the subject, this would be lovely too!
4: I am loving the coloured denim thats in the shops at the moment. I'll not be buying any just yet, need to get these hefty thighs slimmed down before I even consider donning anything bright and attention drawing! haha. Not 100% sure they are really my style either, but they are lovely for summer!
5: I know that I post shoes a lot on my lust lists, I think I may have a problem, I looove shoes. l've them, and currently I love these!! (whats with all the pink!)
6: Really love this dress from boohoo too. Such a lovely colour.
7: This is definitely something I need!
8: A corkscrew... shaped as a unicorn!! .. why yes please!!
9: A cople of these for when our garden is finished would be just wonderful
10: Finally, This is probably what I want most out of all the items on this list.
Bit of a random list this time round! Its taken me a while to compile it too. I've put myself on a bit of a spendin hiatus, and so as not to be led into temptation I've just downright avoided looking at lovely stuff!! haha. It'll be worth it in the long run.

Lust List (April 2011)

oh my, This is a little late this month. I swear I really don't know where my head is at recently. I am thinking I should perhaps get a diary and get a bit more organised.

Anyway, here is my little list of things that have caught my eye throughout April.

1: This cushion from Ikea. *love* they would look so lovely in the garden when the makeover is finished! unfortunately they had none in stock when we visited the MK store recently.
2: More cushions, again from Ikea. again because they would look lovely in our garden. They look like sticks of rock from the seaside! (imo)
3: This egg cosy. how cute?? I could probably make one to be honest, and maybe I will.
4: These Cath Kidston Bowls
5: and this teacup & saucer
6: or these bowls
7: and this teacup & saucer. in fact, just mix and match any of the last 4 items. I'm not greedy I just want a couple I don't care which! throw in a couple of small plates and some cutlery while your there. I shall have the prettiest breakfasts in all of Northamptonshire.
8: Also, how much do I want this Wills & Kate mug?? (which I can no longer find on the website! omg, panic!) More than you can possibly imagine.
9: Phew, as you can see I've been a little Cath Kidston obsessed this past month. Anyway. This little rose hook would be just lovely in our downstairs bathroom.
and finally number 10: These woooonderful Irregular Choice shoes. oh my. Bunnies and bows!
It seems April was rather a cute feminine month for me! not sure I shall be able to resist a lot of these items, Need to work out a plan to get them all into my life!

Hope April was a lovely month for you all, x

14 April 2011

I L.O.V.E....

Jelly Belly Beans!! oh yes. I love them.

I swear they are made by magic!

How else do they make a little sweetie taste like buttered popcorn or toasted marshmallow?

One of the guys at work had a bag of them today, and offered me one, which turned into 2, and then 3, and then 5. It was fun playing the 'what flavour is this' game. I was quite good. I guessed Pina Colada almost immediately.
They also always make me think of Harry Potter and Bertie Botts Every Flavour Beans, and I do slightly worry I may end up with a snot flavoured one.

I now have yearnings for a giiiiant tub of them, the sofa, a blanket and some movies. so I can sit and play the 'what flavour is this' game all day long.

Such fun!! xx

Edit - Just found out about these!! They scare me (omg there actually IS a snot flavoured one!!) but I know they would send me into absolute fits of laughter psyching myself up to taste them!

Another Edit - For anyone that is reading this and knows me, just a quick reminder that its my birthday in a couple of months, and I love Jelly Belly Beans!
Just sayin' ;)

Lust List (March 2011)

Its that time again, for a little round up of the items that have caught my eye and made my heart flutter this month.

First. This seashell heart. So beautiful and would look wonderful in our bedroom I think.

Second. This money box from Urban Outfitters.

Third. and going along the same theme. These headphones from Urban Outfitters. Silver please.

Fourth. This top from New look. I l.o.v.e summer tops like this. though it does make me think I really need to get my tattoo/half sleeve finished!
Firth. These converse.
Sixth. These converse. (I can't decide which ones I like most)
Seventh. These snapshot frames from OU. How cool are they for on your fridge! (huh. cool. fridge. made a pun and didn't even mean to!)
Eighth. This bunny rabbit tea towel from H&M.
Ninth. loving these clamdiggers from H&M. I think they will make me look shorter and dumpier than I already am, but I cant help but want them.
and finally. Tenth. This light shade from B&Q, which I think will be lovely in out hallway, or for our landing. :)
I am sure I shall end up purchasing some of these items, I dont think I shall have the will power to resist. and the first thing will likely be the lampshade. Our hallway definitely needs a makeover, its not inviting in the slightest. x

29 March 2011

So you remember how yesterday I said that the clocks changing was fine because it was still light in the mornings.
It seems my mind was playing tricks on me and it was lies!
Because today when my alarm went off it was decidedly dark in our bedroom. No glints of sunlight through the curtains to entice me out of bed. Just dull and dark, (alright, I'll concede it was because it was cloudy and overcast, minus the clouds it would have been brighter) and it took more than double the effort it did yesterday to get myself out of bed, dressed and to the gym for it opening.

But up and dressed I got, and made it to the gym for it opening. I didn't overly enjoy this mornings workout (Darren is on early starts this week which means he cant come in the mornings. Even though we dont work out together when we are there, I still like his company on the car ride there and home and the odd smile at each other across the gym) I changed it up a little today, and instead of doing Treadmill/Bike. I did Treadmill/XTrainer. Boy did that sucker nearly kill me! but its good. I feel good for changing things around, and I used to l.o.v.e the Xtrainer, so its about time I rediscovered my love for it.

Tonight, straight after work I am going to a Body Balance class. We normally go on a Wednesday, but its later so means I am not home until 9ish and its so late to be eating dinner (I'm not home in time to eat and let it settle before going to the class) So today I have my kit with me so I can get changed at work and go straight there. Hopefully I'll make it in time and it will be a nice class.

When I got home last night Darren asked if I would like to see what he had done... uh-oh, what do you mean?
What he meant was that he had got home from work and spent the afternoon sorting out our spare room! Wow! ok its still got a lot of stuff in it that needs going through. and it has our old sofa upturned on its side awaiting being sold. but even so. There is space for a desk!! a desk!

ooh happy days.

and this is the desk we have chosen.
I cant wait to get it and start painting/creating again! :)
Happy Tuesday! xx

Lust List (Feb 2011)

Afternoon all.
This is the start of a new monthly post I am planning on doing. The title says it all really, its going to be a list of items I am lusting after at the moment.
They could be anything, artwork, shoes, home items, cakes! Anything and probably everything :)
Let me know what you think? a good monthly post, or completely disinteresting!? x

Starting off the first in this series... Reebok Easy tone high tops!

Ok. perhaps not the most stylish footwear (though I am complete;y loving the animal print on these ones!) BUT and its a big but, (yes. the pun is intended!) the Easytone is said to tone your derriere, by just wearing them to walk about in.
A firm bottom without the extra effort at the gym. Yes please!
Unfortunatley previous trainers that claim the same (easytone, shapeups, MBTs etc) aren't exactly what I would wear while popping to the shops. These however these freestyle hybrids, I can see myself wearing them with a pair of skinny jeans and tshirt!
The problem. I don't remember where I saw them. I dont know how much they are. and I can't find the blasted things anywhere!! if you know where they are stocked. please let me know! ty.

Second on my list this month. This necklace from BooHoo.

Third. These 'my jewellery' hooks. Perfect for my new little girly area of our bedroom. (I'd prefer it in black so it matched my tree more!)

Fourth. This hook for in our downstairs bathroom.

and Fifth. This picture for the same room. (smallest picture ever!)
Sixth. These tights from H&M... I think I *need* them!
Seventh. This print. Found via Peonies and Polaroids
Oh my I love it so! (and yes I know its yellow! but it does come in other colours, I'm tempted by the sea green for in our bedroom)

Eighth. This Lamp from Ikea. It would look wonderful in our bedroom (when its madeover of course) unfortunately A: We brought new bedside lamps just a few months ago. B: £61.27 each... I can't justify £122.54 on a couple of lights for the bedroom. Look at how lovely they are though.
And Ninth. These shoes, again from H&M, and again leopard print!

And finally. Tenth. These Irregular Choice shoes from Schuh. I've lusted after these for some time, so they deserved a place on my first ever Lust List! :) and ... they are on SALE!!! eek.

Thats everything that set my pulse racing this month. Whats the bet that by the time I do next months Lust List I'll have given in and brought myself half of these items? :)

What items are you lusting after at the moment?? Or, what have you given in and brought yourself? x

23 February 2011

Aww Shucks!

I don't want to get all gushy and soppy, but I just thought I should post a quick thanks to all you lovely people who seem to read my little ol' blog!

I can't believe I have 18 people that actually follow it!! lol (*waves* to new followers!) ok, I know in comparison to some blogs 18 is really a drop in the ocean. but to me its HUGE! :)

Also, Thanks for all the comments and messages re my recipe post on Monday. I was honestly chuffed to bits that so many people liked it and are going to give them a try. (though now I am slightly scared that everyone will hate them and wonder what planet I am on! haha)

Anyway. Thanks and yeah, Awesome! :D
Thats enough gushy-ness for now I think. on to much more frivolous things.

I have decided I am getting the Gok Wan glasses I mentioned yesterday. However looking on the Specsavers website, They do not have them online yet. and do you think I can find a picture anywhere to share with you? Nope. If they are not on the shelves next week I shall just ask for the ones I want. I know they have them and I want them because I tried them already. They wont turn down a sale surely?? :)
These are the sunglasses I am going to get though. Yes. 'mens' apparently. but really can glasses be sexed? I dont think so.
Anyway. here's the deal I have, HAVE, to make it to my half stone this week in order to allow myself to order these glasses this weekend. Not only make it. but clear it. So its at least 1lb loss.

I know its Wednesday already, and I get weighed tomorrow evening. and I know 1lb isn't exactly an earth shattering amount. but with my record over the past couple of weeks. breaking the STS/half pound cycle would be great. I've tracked what I have eaten, I've got off the couch and got my backside to the gym.
If that 1lbs comes off. I am having those damned glasses! (I probably need new ones anyway. but technically I could get new lenses in old glasses! booo)

Keep your fingers, toes, arms.. whatever all crossed for my weigh in tomorrow night. Otherwise I'll have one god almighty sulk on if I don't lose that 1lb!

17 February 2011

A Yellow Dress

I had seen this dress on the H&M website and loved it.

Yesterday while out shopping we popped into H&M and I couldn't resist taking a look at it. I still loved it. loooook at it!...

Its so sunny and ruffle-y and just so lovely. I tried on my usual size. and couldn't get it on properly. :(
So i brought it in a size smaller!!! :O WTF! Smaller!! are you crazy.

Yes. I think I might be. but you see I have decided THIS is my goal dress. This is the dress that when I shift the lard and get back to the weight/size I want to be then this is the dress I want to wear to celebrate.

The fact I have brought it scares me somewhat. what if I still can't fit into it?? its not the money spent on it that bothers me (it was all of the wonderfully priced £15) its the fact that I love it. if it still does not fit, what do I do? other than cry uncontrollably of course! but come on. 2 sizes smaller. 2 and half stone (35lbs) that'll get me down 2 sizes wont it??
wont it?? Someone please tell me yes!

Anyway. I love it. I WILL wear it. I will wear it this summer.
*crosses all fingers and toes and prays it fits when I've lost weight*

Sunday Snapshot

This morning when on our journey to Ikea we detoured to Market Harborough so we could return my slippers (the ones I adored, and lovely hubby brought me for Xmas, but they were too small *sob*)
They didn't have the size I wanted, and Darren had left his card at home, so I now have a giftcard to treat myself with at some point.

Anyway. We *might* have walked past New Look. I *might* have suggested we go in and I *might* have ended up buying this mustard yellow jacket. ;)
It is lovely though don't you think (and it was in the sale, so I actually saved £20!)

Haaaappy Sunday! xx

Fruit bowl

Last night Darren went on some cleaning blitz in the kitchen. everything cleaned and tidied away. its fabulous.
I was reading my book and completely lost myself in it so I didnt even realise what he was doing.

In order to get the Kitchen how we'd ultimately want it, it'd need a full on overhaul. But right now. Just getting a fruit bowl would be great!
Have you ever looked for a fruit bowl though? I am obvioulsy too fussy, but now we promised ourselves we'd only buy things we love for the house its turning into one hell of a task.

I love, love, love this fruit bowl.
Of course, its by a Mexican designer, it won design awards back in 2008, and I cant find anything like it anywhere.
Of course, if I could find something like it, it'd probably cost waaaay too much and I would then have to sulk for days, weeks possibly even months or years!

If anyone happens to know somewhere that does a lovely bowl like it. in Red or White. Please let me know.
That'd be great. Thanks. :D

Happy Tuesday xx
